I found a small, old abandoned ferry on the beach today. While taking pictures of it, two young girls of about 8 years of age came and asked me for $1 in Indonesian. They were dressed better than I was. I knew they weren’t homeless. I told them no. They asked for 2,00 rupiah. I said no and that I didn’t have any money. One girl called me a liar.
This is the exact same behaviour you’ll find in many of the adults on Bali too sadly.
On a positive note, we’re going to Sanur tomorrow and then hopefully heading to the small island of Nusa Lembongan.
There’s also a chance that we’ve got another house sitting opportunity in France babysitting Dave the cat.
Today's Photo -
Ulun temple can be found on 50,000 rupiah notes (Indonesian currency, in case you didn’t know). It’s a Hindu place of worship that sits out on lake Beratan in Bali.
On this particular morning the fog was thick, the rain was light, and we hadn’t seen any colour in the sky for 2 days. It was 5:00am and we were due to leave the town of Bedugul in only a few hours. This was my only chance to get a photo.
At some point, and only for about 20 minutes, the fog cleared slightly and the rain stopped, and against my expectations we were presented with a lovely blue scene.
